Five Year Update

A movie that takes over five years to make is probably not going to actually get made, right?

Two years ago, I started a new company called Bloodstone Studios with the intention of making it a publishing and production company that would create awesome Occult / Horror cards, books, movies, and TV series. So far, the publishing aspect has been incredibly successful, but that success has come at the cost of divesting my energy and time from film production.

Developing a feature film is extremely labor (and brain) intensive. Additionally, I've discovered over the past ten years just how difficult it is for an independent filmmaker to shoot a movie in Los Angeles. As someone who has lots of experience shooting short films on the east coast, the entire process of shooting in southern California is, to be perfectly frank, pretty depressing.

So, I'm not sure Cult of Cthulhu will ever get made. If it does eventually go back into production, we'll start over from scratch with a new script and new actors--only the basic premise will be maintained. Part of this is due to my lack of interest in acting, having discovered the true joy of creation that comes from being in charge of every aspect of production.

There's your five year update on this film. May the Weirded Old Gods be with you!
