Pennsylvania Shooting Wrapped!

It was a whirlwind tour through the backcountry of Pennsylvania for our tiny cast and crew, but we successfully wrapped shooting on our 2nd Unit photography in record time!

The big challenges involved intermittent rain, which looked great for the exterior shots, but were problematic for the driving shots (raindrops and wipers across the windshield kind of spoil the view). Much of the footage will be used as atmosphere to create a sense of our hero traveling to Dunwich and Blasted Heath locations, and although we're far from Lovecraft's Vermont / Massachuttests, the old country roads of rural Benton, Pennsylvania fit the bill perfectly and contained plenty of spooky scenery for our cameras.

Our most awesome scene was the actual crossing of the covered bridge which leads into the overgrown town of Dunwich. After a few days of location scounting, we ended up choosing to shoot at the Josiah Hess Covered Bridge, which was built in the township of Forks in 1875 by one of our director's ancestors, so there's a strong family connection with the area!

The crisp, cool weather along with the drizzle and the solitude of the woodlands created a perfect substitute for Dunwich.

We're headed back to LA on Tuesday and gearing up for the New Year when we confirm casting and prepare to shoot our next scenes.
